General Manager AMTECH International Japan
Tohru Segawa is general manager of AMTECH International Japan. In this position, he is responsible for managing Amtech's efforts with Japanese customers and employees based in Japan.
Segawa joined AMTECH in 2007 after a 43-year career serving automotive OEMs and suppliers. Most recently, Segewa was senior advisor at Marubeni Automotive Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Marubeni Corporation, a leading Japanese trading company. From 2002 to 2004, Segawa was chairman and CEO of Farmington Hills, Michigan-based Tachi-S Engineering USA, Inc, a subsidiary of Tachi-S Co., Ltd., with headquarters in Japan. He also served on the board of Tachi-S Co. from 1995 to 2004. Before Tachi-S, Seqawa was on special assignment with Nissan Motor Company as general manager, sales and marketing for three years at JATCO Co., Ltd., a manufacturer specializing in automatic transmissions. From 1964 to 1993 he was with Nissan in positions of increasing responsibilities, most recently as general manager, materials purchasing, responsible for sheet metal, aluminum, plastic resins and tools and dies. Segawa holds a bachelor's degree in Economics from Hitotsubashi University in Tokyo. He is fluent in both English and Japanese. |
